leather & thread

Accessories can make or break an outfit, which is why I tend to keep my accessory game as minimalist as possible. Don't get me wrong, I love a good statement necklace and the occasional chandelier earring. But for the most part, I gravitate toward clean and classic pieces that will rise above trends and stand the test of time. Enter Leather & Thread, a leather goods company based in the U.K. that specializes in handmade products including wallets, purses, card holders, belts, and more. I immediately fell in love with the brand's elegant and timeless aesthetic. Most impressively, the artisans of Leather & Thread carefully cut every item by hand, punch every hole one by one, and hand sew every stitch and color on every item individually.

Now that's what I call quality control.

When I was given the chance to review their popular Sacculum Wallet, I (obviously) jumped at the opportunity. This piece is designed to carry the essentials -- up to six cards, some cash, and a key or two. It can also function as a business card holder (which means your networking events are about to get way more stylish). The wallet is constructed from a single piece of leather to minimize weakness points, internally stitched with waxed linen thread, and held closed with a single antique bronze Sam Browne stud. You can choose from an array of colors to find a piece that's perfect for you.

I love the Sacculum Wallet for many reasons, the first of which is its compact size. This is a piece that you can easily fit into a pocket, making it the perfect companion on a night out when you don't want to carry your whole life with you. Secondly, the quality of the leather is superb. You really need to see it in person to understand just how amazing this material is. And lastly, this piece is practical yet stylish -- an important mix that helps me decide whether something is worth investing in.

I can see myself using this wallet every day, and with its clean lines and chic black leather, I don't think it's something I'll tire of anytime soon.

Cheers,

Mekita
