leather + polka dots

November is traditionally a very packed month for me, and this year it's been busier than usual. We celebrated Kent's 30th birthday on the 3rd, my 26th birthday on the 12th, and welcomed my mom to Washington this past week for Thanksgiving (by the way, I may or may not have eaten my weight in pecan pie #noshame). On top of all that, I've been slowly but surely acclimating to life in DC. We've been here for five weeks now, although at times it feels like it's been years. That's a good thing, though, because it means we've adjusted surprisingly well in a relatively short amount of time. DC is really starting to feel like home, and I'm so excited to purchase our Christmas tree and get our place in the holiday spirit!

With all that's been going on, I haven't had a chance to dedicate myself to my blog as much as I'd like. But I promise that will all change in the coming weeks. I have so many ideas swirling in this head of mine, and I can't wait to share them with you!

In the meantime, I wanted to shine the spotlight on this look I styled in partnership with Lydell NYC, an amazing jewelry house that sells gorgeous, on-trend pieces at affordable prices. I wore the Vandalia Earrings, which feature sparkly crystal posts backed by pearls for a modern twist on the classic pearl earring (here, I wore them with the crystals as the backs -- versatility for the win)!

This outfit is all about ease. I wanted to wear something that was breezy yet put-together. I turned to my favorite polka dot palazzo pants (because I never met a palazzo pant I didn't like) and paired them with a plain white top. A cognac leather jacket and black loafers add an element of structure without making the overall look too stiff. This ensemble can easily take you from brunch to shopping to happy hour -- perfect for this time of year, when every little second counts!
