sequin eliza j dress

I tend to be a pretty minimalist dresser. I lean toward basics in neutral palettes, and I keep accessories classic and understated. However, as the holiday season approaches, my desire to pack on the prints and mix textures increases. Normally, sequins + sparkle + fur = a bit much. But when it's cold and snowing outside, and I'm out Christmas shopping in between latte stops, there's something about a little (or a lot) of bling that just feels right. This time of year makes my sartorial spirit feel extra adventurous.

For this ensemble, I teamed up with Dillard's to showcase this stunning Eliza J dress. This number is definitely not your average LBD. With a fitted sequin bodice and a cutout that reveals just the right amount of skin, it's a true spotlight-stealer that's perfect for any holiday party.

Accessory-wise, I opted for an all-black palette with pops of different textures to create interest, like this lace headband with a floral appliqué. I completed the look with black tights (so necessary during the winter months) and stilettos. And best of all, this monochromatic look pairs wonderfully with this ivory envelope-collar coat by Jessica Simpson that I previously wrote about here.

Special thanks to Kate Moser at Dillard's for initiating our holiday-themed partnership!
