outerwear obsession: SheIn wrap coat

December is halfway over! What the?! Is it just me or is this holiday season REALLY flying by? I mean, the holidays always seem to be over in the blink of an eye, but lately they seem particularly speedy. I always get sentimental this time of year, wishing the magic of the holidays could last forever. Bizarrely, the weather in DC has been anything but holiday-like. Over the weekend we saw highs in the 70s and today it's a cool 61 degrees. As someone who loves the holiday season but can't stand snow and cold temps, this month has really been a dream come true. I know Old Man Winter will eventually come through, but if he can hold off for a little while longer, I'd be okay with that :)

One of the reasons this weather has been so fantastic (aside from warm > cold, duh) is that it's given me a chance to wear all of my cute outerwear that I normally wouldn't for fear that it'd get ruined by a toxic mixture of dirty winter slush (you know, the same stuff that murders your favorite suede boots). When the weather is unbearably cold, I'm not concerned about looking stylish -- my main priority is warmth. So these unseasonable temps have allowed me to break out the colorful moto jackets and luscious wrap coats without worrying about the temperature suddenly plummeting below zero.

Speaking of luscious wrap coats, this number from SheIn is my newest outerwear obsession. Its classic beige hue will go with anything and everything. Plus, the oversized lapels are oh-so luxurious and sophisticated. Here I paired the coat with a ubiquitous white button-up tucked into a cognac-colored pleather skater skirt. Black tights and heeled booties are the finishing touches to this ensemble that's prim and proper without being stuffy. I think this look would be perfect for both the boardroom and a brunch date!
