feeling fringey

As evidenced here and here, I love fringe. It's a detail that makes any outfit a little more adventurous and playful. This look started off relatively safe -- it was your classic crop-top-meets-high-waisted-pants ensemble. A chunky metallic bangle and modern, block-heeled sandals are fairly bold accessories, but I wanted to incorporate a piece that would really steal the spotlight. This amazing coral-colored, crocheted kimono from Note To Your Little Sister packs just the punch I'm looking for.  First off, the color is even more vibrant IRL -- and I am such a sucker for anything coral. It's a quintessential warm-weather hue, but it also transitions well into the fall months.

Second, the fringed hemline and oversized short sleeves make this lightweight piece incredibly easy and fun to wear -- you can throw it over jeans and a graphic tee just as easily as you could pair it with a flirty frock (I envision this working especially well with a black bodycon dress or a neutral-toned maxi dress). I also really like how the subtle, lace-like pattern looks against the print of the pants -- it's a nice pattern-mixing moment that creates just the right amount of visual contrast.

Best of all, at $15, this kimono is a total steal. With its versatility and eye-catching details, you'll definitely be wearing this beauty for a while!
