fabulous fringe

So the boy and I recently returned from a trip to Miami, where his mom and her family live. It was my second time visiting Miami and I definitely tried to make the best of it (travel post coming soon). I'm an aquagirl at heart -- meaning I loooove being in/near the water -- so I'm having major beach withdrawals right now. *Sigh*

Anyway, a few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to be invited into Tobi's community of bloggers/influencers. Based in California, the online fashion boutique is quickly becoming a go-to name among fashionistas for their affordable and on-trend pieces. If you're new to Tobi, you automatically get 50% off your first order. You honestly have nothing to lose by taking a peek at their amazing (and enormous!) inventory (I challenge you to not want at least ten different items).

Thanks to Tobi, my Miami fashion game was really on point. Even though the term "fringe" tends to evoke a cowboy, western-inspired vibe, I decided to take a different approach with styling the Twang and Slang Mini Skirt. As soon as I laid my eyes on this piece, I knew that I wanted to go for a luxurious, modern look with elements of mid-century glamour.

I opted for a vintage long-sleeve blouse with delicate draping that's so smooth it looks as though it's melting off your silhouette (1970s tailoring is so dreamy). I wore a black lace bralette underneath and completed the look with black strappy stilettos. All in all, the ensemble is sexy but surprisingly conservative. It works just as well for Sunday brunch as it does for a Saturday night out on South Beach.
