holiday lookbook

When I decided to shoot my first-ever holiday lookbook this year, I wasn't sure what to expect. I knew that I wanted the looks to be timeless and elegant, while still showing off my personal sense of style. I know that around the holidays, it's easy to get caught up in the chaos of party planning, dinner making, gift buying/wrapping, etc. Amid all of the craziness, you can easily lose sight of yourself and what the holidays mean to you. So I wanted this lookbook to be a true reflection of what I enjoy most about the holidays: Festive decor, delicious wine, quality time with family, making new memories, sharing laughs with old friends, and getting to know new friends. Perhaps what I love most about the holidays is its inherent je ne sais quoi -- it's a certain air of magic that isn't quite tangible, but somehow palpable. So cheers to that holiday magic, and to looking good while celebrating all that we have to be thankful for.

Merry Christmas!

For this look, I paired a red A-line dress with nude patent leather pumps to create an ensemble that pays homage to the classic silhouettes from the Mad Men era. Red is a go-to holiday hue that's guaranteed to steal the show, so understated yet striking jewelry is a must. These mixed metal earrings and necklace are the perfect complement against this fitted frock.

This look is all about being ultra feminine. While unconventional for the season, I paired a coral (typically a spring and summertime shade) bodysuit with this gorgeous, floral-print skirt. The just-below-the-knee length is perfect for the holidays -- it errs on the conservative side without swallowing up your silhouette. A black lace bralette (worn underneath) and pearl accessories add even more womanly touches to this luxuriously elegant ensemble.
