dreaming of paris

I first visited Paris in 2008. I was 18 and studying abroad in Spain. Over a long weekend, a few of my peers and I hopped on a Ryanair flight to the City of Light and I haven't been quite the same since. The art, the food, the wine, the romance... there's just nothing like roaming the streets of Paris with your broken French and soaking in all of that wonderful history. Ernest Hemingway summed it up best:

...wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.

Although I was there for a short time and (unfortunately) have yet to return, the culture and air of Paris (that certain je ne sais quoi, if you will) are among my major style influences. For this look, I tapped into that sartorial spirit and channeled my inner French woman. I stuck with an all-black palette save for the red and black tweed blazer that just screams Chanel (but for a fraction of the cost). The rhinestones on the black beret add a fun, modern twist to the Parisian staple. Overall, this look is both polished enough for work and pretty enough for play -- très chic, no?
