jump, jump

I don't know about y'all, but my transition into full-fledged adulthood has been a rocky one. From the daily 9-5 grind to the realities of paying your bills and being -- gasp! -- responsible, adulthood can take its toll on even the most resilient individuals. I suppose that's why sometimes you just gotta take a step back, breathe, let your inner kid out, and do some exploring. That's the philosophy behind this youth-inspired look. A few months ago, I snagged this floral jumper on sale at Forever 21 for something ridiculous ($4 sounds about right) and it's just been sitting in my closet ever since. It's one of those pieces that I really loved at first sight for its fun pattern and unique shape, but I haven't been in just the right mood to rock it. Does that make sense? Am I weird for needing to be in certain moods to wear particular pieces? Probably.

So the other day, I woke up feeling pretty playful, and I saw this cute little jumper staring at me longingly from my closet. It was practically begging to be worn. I gave in. I paired it with a fitted, white crop top and my go-to, throw-on-at-the-last-minute-because-they-work-with-everything camel-colored boots. Was that too many hyphens in a sentence? Probably. Thanks for sticking with me on that one. For the finishing touch, I completed my look with a casual tiered ponytail.
