get those knees up

It's already August, which is kind of alarming. Summer, as usual, is going by so too quickly. Before you know it, it'll be December and I'll be wearing 18 layers as a blizzard rages outside and I will curse every single second that I'm forced to spend not indoors. I am really, really, really not looking forward to winter. I digress.

Admittedly, I'm more of a gym rat than an outdoors gal. I don't deal with the elements very well. I like following a pretty set workout routine within the comfort of an air-conditioned facility. But as I've mentioned before, diversifying your exercise regimen is a great way to A) avoid boredom and B) get in shape faster while maybe -- just maybe -- having more fun.

In this instance, I spiced up my routine by running some stairs near a trail in our neighborhood. It was a speedy way to increase my heart rate and in that summer sun, you work up a sweat in seconds. I opted for a head-to-toe Nike look that gave me tons of agility and mobility. I'm usually not a matchy-matchy person, but when it comes to activewear, I absolutely love coordinating colors. It's the ultimate way to feel and look put together while still going into beast mode.

This particular combination was completely coincidental. I'd purchased these Nike Free 5.0+ trainers in a black/magenta/purple colorway a few days before I saw this top. Right when I saw that it had the exact same colors, I knew these two were a match made in activewear heaven. I opted for white leggings as opposed to my go-to color of choice (black) because, in case you forgot, it's summer out there!
