It's finally February! Which means that it's almost March, which means that spring is essentially around the corner. (Does it sound like I'm grasping at straws here?) At the risk of sounding slightly pathetic, I gotta say that the only thing getting me through this last lap of winter are nonstop thoughts of blooming flowers, outdoor brunches, and chic springtime ensembles.
Until then, I'm all about what I'm calling "transitional wear." These are the pieces that really work during those in-between months that serve as a bridge between two seasons. One such piece is the blue jean jacket. I am loving this one from Boom Boom Jeans. Its rugged, distressed texture toughens up this fairly standard white top and black pants combo. I can definitely see this jacket adding some interest to a floral frock and sky-high wedges when the weather warms up (and after I get that much-needed post-winter pedi).
At its core, this look is pretty casual and cool (am I James Dean yet?). My go-to black leather booties and a mixed metal necklace by the oh-so-talented JES Design Studio add a touch of sophisticated edge that's fun and unexpected.
