back to black

Call it moody. Call it morbid. Call it monotonous.

I call it a uniform. A lifestyle. A way of being. What, exactly, am I philosophizing about?

Head-to-toe black.

There's nothing quite like an all-black outfit. It's effortlessly chic and polished. It looks good on anyone -- and I mean anyone. There's an air of assurance that comes with wearing all-black-everything. It's a sense of being above fleeting fads and silly trends. It's a sense of owning whatever damn room you walk into and making no apologies for your other-worldly levels of badassness. It's instant confidence.

I could go on and on and on about my affinity for all-black looks. But I'll spare you. Trust and believe, there's more to come. My wardrobe is about 75% black -- and growing. If you ever want to get on my good side, just buy me a bunch of black clothes. I will be your best friend.

For this particular ensemble, I let the accessories do the talking. I wanted the fun heels and oversized bracelet to take center stage. To achieve this, I kept the lines very clean and structured with fitted black leggings (featuring the sleekest ankle zip detailing). Then, I added some dimension with an open-arm, trapeze-fit tank top. I finished the look with the chunky, slightly modernist sunglasses from my last post.
